County Credit

FAQ's

1-What is Credit?

“Credit” is the privilege to use the financial means of another party. When you apply to any financial institution for a loan, mortgage or credit card, you need to provide evidence of the ability to repay, and a history of repaying past credit. You can get better terms with lower interest rates if you have good credit ratings, but with a poor credit rating, you may not get credit at any price. Building a good credit record is important to achieve many desirable goals, such as homeownership, vehicle financing, and various forms of wealth building.

2-What is credit repair?

Credit repair is the process of cleaning up inaccuracies on your credit report, removing wrong or inaccurate information, protect your identity and become more informed on your credit issues. If you repair your credit file, it is likely your credit score will improve, and thereby will obtain better interest rates and save money.

3-What is the cost?

Our cost structure is designed to be as accommodating as possible. There is no advance fee for work that we did not perform. You will see results and that’s when you will pay. For Example, let’s say you have about 10 negative/inaccurate items on your report that you would like us to work on, as those items are corrected, that’s when you will pay. Never in advance for that work.

4-Are there additional fees?

No. There are no surprises. There are no hidden or additional fees. You only pay when job is done on each item. There is no monthly fee and certainly there is no contract. If you are happy, we are happy. It’s just that simple.

5-How do I get my credit report?

Easy. Just Click on the tab on our website that says Free Credit Report and it should take you to free credit report link. But, if for some reason you are unable to pull your credit report, we will be glad to assist you with it when you visit us. Your most recent Credit report is important for us to evaluate your situation and devise a plan to tackle with issues in the credit report.

6-How long will it take for my credit report to be fixed?

All inaccurate/negative items get challenged by our office on your behalf and you should start seeing results in 2-4 weeks. Certain items on your report might require additional work and verification by the credit bureaus or collection agencies, those usually take additional steps. Remember, your credit score will start improving as soon as the negative/inaccurate items get removed from your report.

7-How do I get started?

You can call us right now at 212-321-0291 or visit one of our two convenient locations, either in Queens or Manhattan and schedule a one on one free meeting with one of our credit analysts. They will go over your credit report and identify the items that could be corrected and help raise your credit score. It is easy and takes about 10 minutes. Work begins immediately and you should start seeing results FAST.

8- Why is there the need of repairing credit?

Because your credit record will influence your qualification for credit in the future, and could possibly affect rates for your current credit lines. Accordingly, if your credit report is incorrect, the reparation of the credit file will help improve your chances. A good credit score helps you obtain low interest rates and long term loans, like home loans or car loans. Lenders may charge high interest rates or impose undesirable repayment plans for you. Given the stakes and the consequences involved, it is clearly to your advantage to work toward recovering from a bad credit rating.

9-Can I apply for credit cards while you are working on my credit report?

NO. We strongly recommend that you do not apply for any credit until your score has improved and negative/inaccurate items have come off your report. With good credit score and accurate credit report, your chances of getting approved for everything you want are more probable. Please see our consultant for more information on where to apply for low interest rate credit cards, lines and loans, car financing and house mortgage etc.

12-Can bad credit be deleted or corrected?

The simple fact is that questionable credit listings are either deleted or corrected by the thousands each and every day through the efforts of individual consumers and organizations like Lexington Law. The proof is very compelling: The efforts of County Credit Corp have successfully assisted clients in obtaining deletion and correction of many hundreds of thousands of questionable credit listings being deleted. It’s not necessarily easy or foolproof, and County Credit Corp. cannot guarantee success, but the right to improve your credit by challenging questionable items is yours.

13-Are bankruptcies & foreclosures able to be removed?

There is not one type of questionable listing that cannot be removed from a credit report if it is inaccurate, untimely, misleading, biased, incomplete or unverifiable (in our work, we refer to such items as “questionable”). While negative items such as bankruptcy or unpaid debts are more difficult to remove from the credit report, this has more to do with the operational systems of the credit bureaus than with the severity of the bad credit item. For example, judgments and tax liens are severely negative listings yet, in County Credit Corp, clients have had more success getting them removed than other types of listings. Whether a questionable item can be corrected or removed has little to do with its severity alone.

14-Should consumers try credit repair on their own?

This really depends on you and the amount of time you’re willing to allocate toward repairing your credit. While disputing items on your credit reports should be easy, getting results can often be time consuming, difficult, complex and infuriating. Many consumers are not able to dedicate the proper amount of time to study effective credit repair methods and apply principles learned. In fact, according to our survey of clients, 90% of County Credit Corp. clients attempted to repair their own credit before retaining the services of our company.

Also, credit repair is often much more than simply sending dispute letters to the credit bureaus. Sometimes it becomes necessary to do more than simply ask the credit bureaus to perform an investigation. Dealing with creditors, collections agencies and the courts may be required to repair your credit reports. It is important to know how to deal with these individual entities.

Restoring your own credit is like repairing your own transmission or representing yourself in court; you can certainly do it (and you have the legal right), but you must decide if you are willing to take the time and endure the possible frustration of doing it yourself. In the same way, you have the legal right to represent yourself in court, but it isn’t always the best idea.

15-Do negative items remain listed for 7 years?

When you speak with certain creditors, their typically under-educated staff may tell you the law demands that negative listings appear on your personal credit report for seven to ten years.

The truth is that the credit grantor or the credit bureau can choose to delete the negative credit listing at any time, especially when you give them a reason to do so. The 7 year term is merely a time limit for reporting negative credit. Some items, like bankruptcy, liens and charge offs may stay on a report longer than 7 years.
